Moving Forward

Sometimes, I forget how easy it is to get caught up on what could've been, instead of what really was. I tend to think about the things that could come of a situation, a platonic or romantic relationship - instead of recognizing and accepting it for what it was/is.

I believe that everyone that comes into our life is there for a reason. God has a purpose for placing that person in your life, at that time. Now, let's not get hung up on the whole "they're either a lesson or a blessing". That's not what I'm getting at here.

I think people come into our lives for a season. Think about it - there's only one person who is there for every single part of your life, from the moment you're born until the moment you die. You.

Everyone else is there for a reason. Sometimes, figuring out that reason isn't all it's cracked up to be. That ex that doesn't seem to go away - establish your boundaries. That friendship being tested - grow your patience and understanding. That coworker you can't stand - professional development.

I'm hoping this will resonate with some of you: Throughout life, we have those moments that shake your world and you're not sure how to keep moving forward. I think those are our pivotal moments. I'm not saying that these pivotal moments shape your every being, but it's enough to change your mindset to realize the parts of your life that need adjusting. Establish those boundaries, grow that respect for yourself and others, and have that personal/professional development.

They're the moments that stick with you long enough to make you uncomfortable until you address them. Because let's be real, the world's going to keep spinning. It's up to you if you want to let those moments keep making you uncomfortable, or if you're going to address them and keep moving forward.

And remember, everyone is only here for a season - it's up to you how long that season is going to be.

Love always,

Kenzie <3
